Our Story

Charles (CK) and Kathryn met several years ago attending the same church in Springfield, Missouri.

Charles Hicks and Kathryn InyartAfter spending fifteen years in the suburbs of Chicago, Kathryn moved to to the farm where she lived and worked alongside her family. CK also spent much of his life outside city limits, eventually following his father's profession with a career in the tech industry.

Together, they attended a small Reformed Baptist church in Springfield, Missouri. After several years of friendship, CK approached Kathryn's father to see if there was a chance for their relationship to go beyond fellow church members. After much discussion, consideration, and even more prayer, the Inyart and Hicks families began an intentional time of courtship so that CK and Kathryn might have time to discuss important matters before anything was official.

By the grace of God, Kathryn accepted CK's proposal for marriage on January 18, 2016!

Give Toward Our Future

We're moving to Kansas City directly after our wedding. We really appreciate your thoughtfulness in considering how to support our new home! Here are a few practical ways you can support our new life together.

Piano Tuning

Kathryn loves to play the piano (and CK loves to listen). Once we move to Kansas City, however, it's going to need a tuning! Your help will benefit the health of our ears and happiness of our home.

Garden Keeping Items

Both CK and Kathryn love to go outside and get their hands dirty. We have a solid collection, but you can help us acquire some of the tools, seeds, and things we'll need to make it a success!

Kitchen Aid Attachment

Both CK and Kathryn have keen eyes for gadgets that will make their home more productive. This grain flaker/oat roller mill attachment is a fantastic way to make flour and other wonderful foods.

As we prepare to start this new life together, it has become apparent that we will need certain "big" items to keep things ship-shape. You can help by giving toward this general washer/dryer fund.
